Hello! I am Coach Catherine, your head coach for the Mighty Marlins. As a child, I grew up in the water and swam competitively from age 4 to 18. I primarily swam backstroke and middle to long distance freestyle. After I graduated high school, I began my coaching career as an assistant swim coach and then as head coach for a summer league team prior to moving to Georgia. While in Georgia, I have taught private lessons to swimmers during the summer months and was a swim instructor for Swim Atlanta when my children were younger. From 2017-2021, I was the head coach for the Maple Ridge Manta Rays during the summer months. I co-coached Berkmar High School from 2019-2022, and I have been coaching for Swim Atlanta since April 2021. I took the summer of 2022 off from being a summer league coach to spend time with my family. I truly missed the summer swim atmosphere and being a part of the summer league community. I was super excited to return to the Gwinnett County Swim League as your head coach in 2023 and to become a part of the Flowers Crossing swim family. Summer swim is truly the best time of year, and I love this team!
